We celebrated Valentine's Day with a beautiful 3-course meal at a local restaurant called Allium, where we tried local favorites like "braised brisquet of English rose veal" and "salmon with sea kale, frog legs, and parsely".
Kristine is still not a fan of fish n' chips, but dinner at the Allium makes English food considerably more appealing. On Saturday evening, we hosted a spaghetti dinner for some friends of Jason's. We started cooking at 3pm and did the whole thing up - hot appetizers, wine, salad, garlic bread, and a homemade cake for dessert! We really enjoyed putzing around the kitchen together and hope we'll be able to host more little dinner parties. Below is some rare footage of Kristine in the kitchen ;)
One last note - before Kristine left, she decided to be a little more adventurous with her hair and cut it considerably shorter and change the color to a strawberry blond. Now, fortunately because she had a good hairdresser, it didn't turn out very red, but it certainly does have more of a reddish base which actually makes the whole thing look a little golden. We've posted a picture below of the end result:
Jason's happy with the hair, which is all that really matters, right? :)Anyway, we love and miss you all and look forward to reading your comments!
